I am attending De Anza community college (California). I filed my FAFSA by the CalGrant deadline, and submitted by GPA form. Monday I got an e-mail (I also got this same e-mail a month before but missed it), saying "In order to compete for a 2016-17 Cal Grant C award, you must complete the Cal Grant C Supplement and return it to CSAC as soon as possible."
According to the CalGrant website, the most I can get with a CalGrant C is $547 for books (can't get the rest because I'm in CA). Obviously I don't care about $547. Why are they sending me this form? Am I not eligible for a CalGrant B?
If all I can get is Calgrant C and I don't file the Supplement form, do I still lose one of my 4 years of benefits? Can I not file the form, not get the Calgrant C, and get an extra year of a "better" CalGrant at the university?
