Losing a scholarship while on Dean's List???

Hi everyone. I wanted to get some input because I am absolutely terrified of the fact that I may be losing my WUE scholarship. I transferred to UNLV this year from a community college, so this should technically be my junior year. I always made Dean's list at my previous school and I made it this semester (Spring 2016) at UNLV, as well. My first semester at UNLV, however, wasn't so great... Long story short, I was given some transfer credits that I probably should not have received. You have to meet with an academic advisor to plan your schedule for your first semester at UNLV, and I was advised to take the intermediate computer science class since I had transfer credit. My previous school taught "C", but UNLV teaches "C++", so I fell behind quickly in this class. I went to tutoring and spent endless hours working on homework and managed to pass with a "B", however my other classes suffered because of it. I was also struggling being alone and out of state from family for the first time, and couldn't even sleep most nights, which made it hard to focus in my early morning math class. I ended up with 1 B 2 Cs and a D. This was a 1.92 GPA (Eeek!). I take completely responsibility for this, and realize it is unacceptable. I worked hard to get my grades up the following semester. This semester, however, I got all 3 A's and one B. I'm even on Dean's Honor List! However, I had an extenuating circumstance that caused the B. I involved in a car accident (not at fault) that caused me to be in the hospital overnight as well as miss some classes for doctors appointments and physical therapy. I got out of the hospital at 4AM but I had a midterm that day (my class has a "no makeups for whatever reason" rule). I was given a note from the hospital that excused me from class for 3 days. I debated going to the midterm anyways, but I no longer had a car, and I was in a horrible state mentally, emotionally, and physically. I couldn't even remember my social security number after the accident, so going to the final was pretty much out of the question. Since the weight of the midterm shifted to the final, and I had to miss classes between the midterm and the final for appointments and what not, I ended up, unfortunately, getting a B. I have just been informed that my GPA for the two semesters averaged out to 2.73, but a 2.75 is required to keep the scholarship, so it is being revoked. I typed out a complete appeal and filled out all the forms, then I went to the website to find out where to send them. After reviewing the WUE page, I saw a line that said "appeals cannot be made for this scholarship" !! I pay for my schooling, housing, car, bills, etc, so without this scholarship I won't be able to attend University any longer... I've read some posts about people appealing even though there was a "no appeals" rule, so my question is, is it worth sending in anyways? I feel that I have shown really great progress and the first semester was a total fluke. Like I've said, I've consistently made Dean's List minus that one semester. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
